Why you opt in yourself
Timesheets are a two-step opt-in. A manager turns them on for the workspace (see Enabling timesheets for your workspace), and then each agent who wants to track time turns them on for themselves. Nothing is recorded for you until you do, even when the workspace has timesheets switched on. IntelliDesk doesn't track anyone silently.
Where your settings are
Settings → My Time Tracking. These settings are private to you. The workspace switch, time categories and default currency are under Settings → Timesheets and are for managers. If timesheets are off for the workspace, this page says so at the top.
Turning on "Track my time"
Switch on Track my time. From then on:
- Timesheet appears in your sidebar.
- Start timer appears in the top bar and next to ticket and card titles.
Your charge-out rate and currency
- Charge-out rate: your hourly rate, used to value your time in reports, timesheets and exports. Leave it blank to use the workspace default.
- Currency: defaults to the workspace's currency. Change it if you bill in a different one.
The rate is stored on each entry when it's created, so changing your rate later doesn't rewrite past entries. See Time categories and charge-out rates.
Your other settings
- Auto-suggest end-of-day review: prompts you to review and submit the day's time at the end of each working day.
- Auto-accept my generated day: when a manager grants it, days you generate become final without a review. Only a manager can change this.
- When idle: what happens when a running timer gets no activity for the workspace's idle threshold. The choices are to ask you, pause the timer, or ignore the gap.
- Timezone: which day your time counts towards. Auto-detect reads it from your browser.
- My grace override: how long a quiet gap can be before Generate my day stops counting it towards the task you were on. Leave it blank for the workspace default.
- Pomodoro: turn on focus sessions and set the focus and break lengths (see Tracking time).
Turning it back off
Switch Track my time off at any time. New time stops being recorded straight away, and the sidebar item and timer controls disappear. Your existing entries, submissions and reports are kept. If you turn it on again later, everything is where you left it.
