A workspace (also called an organization) is your company's space in IntelliDesk: its help desks, tickets, contacts, projects, settings and billing. Workspaces are completely separate from each other. One person can belong to several, for example if you support two businesses or work with a client's team, and use the same sign-in for all of them.
Switching workspaces
The name of the workspace you're in is shown at the bottom of the sidebar, next to your profile picture.
- Click the workspace name.
- Pick another workspace from the list.
IntelliDesk reloads with that workspace's desks and tickets. On a phone, open the menu (top left) to reach the sidebar.
If you've been invited to a workspace but it isn't in the list, open the invitation email and accept it first.
Creating another workspace
Click the workspace name at the bottom of the sidebar and choose Create organization. Give it your company name, then click Create workspace on the next screen. Each new workspace gets its own help desk, its own 90-day free trial, and its own billing.
Renaming your workspace
Organization admins can rename a workspace:
- Click the workspace name at the bottom of the sidebar and choose Manage.
- Change the name and save.
The new name appears across IntelliDesk within a few moments. It's separate from your help desks' names (change those under Settings → Help Desks) and from the name customers see on your portal (change that under Settings → Portal Branding).
Organization admins vs desk managers
IntelliDesk has two kinds of "admin", and they do different things:
| Organization admin | Desk manager | |
|---|---|---|
| Who | The person who created the workspace, plus anyone they make an admin | Set per help desk under Settings → Team |
| Can | Manage billing (subscribe, card, cancel), rename the workspace, remove people from the workspace | Change a desk's settings, invite teammates, set roles, remove people from a desk |
People you invite from Settings → Team join as ordinary members of the workspace, with the desk role you choose. To make someone else an organization admin, an existing admin opens Manage → Members from the workspace menu and changes that person's role to Admin. It's a good idea to have at least two, so billing never depends on one person.
Your Organization ID
Settings → General shows the workspace's Organization ID, with a copy button. Include it when you contact IntelliDesk support so we can find your workspace quickly.
